WHY YOU SHOULD BE TAKING COLD SHOWERS EVERY DAY

You are deep into sleep and your alarm rings. You get up half-awake and get into your bathroom. You turn on the shower and oops! You forgot to switch on the water heater and feel a sudden shock sensation as the cold water pours down. We all can relate to this annoying situation. But what if I told you there are some shocking great benefits of cold showers that may shock you even more than those unexpected cold pours themselves.

The process behind this habit is well explained in the book The Wim Hof Method, written by an extreme Dutch athlete, Wim Hof (also knowns as the Iceman). When you get into cold showers, the body immediately alarms you to get out of it or increase the temperature. Why? Because it takes a high level of mental toughness and the ability to expand your comfort zone to take a cold shower. When you resist your body's temptation to avoid the cold shower, you program the brain to develop a high level of adaptability to situations like this which are out of your comfort zone. As cold showers are usually taken in the morning after rising, your day starts with a win over a tough challenge and transmits a subconscious message that you are ready for all the challenges that lie ahead in the day. This develops great mental toughness and resilience in life when done over a long period of time and is the best benefit of taking cold showers.

Studies prove that taking cold showers leads to an increase in glutathione (a chemical in the human body) which is a great way to reduce stress and it may even sometimes be better than antidepressants. It also releases adrenaline or epinephrine which is a chemical that leads to happiness when released.

Some other health benefits:
  • It increases alertness and boosts your energy which exponentially grows your productivity throughout the day.
  • Strengthens your immune system by increasing the white blood cell count in the body.
  • It leads to an increase in the testosterone production levels of men.
  • Relieves muscle soreness to a great extent.
  • Develops the ability of the body to tackle cardiovascular diseases.
  • Promotes weight loss.

I don't mean that you should jump straight away into freezing cold water from tomorrow morning. This can be tough at times as it fights your willpower and breathing can be tough at the initial phase too, but gradually you'll get used to it.

For this, will have to follow the idea of minimal progression.:
At first, you may begin by turning the water cold only for the last 30 secs of your shower time.
Then, you may progress to start with slowly immersing your head followed by your face, and then gradually your whole body into the shower.
After this, you will be ready to jump right away into cold showers and be much tougher.

Trust me, I have been taking cold showers every morning for the past six months and have discovered astounding results! Hope you found this post captivating. Stay tuned 👋

How your thoughts shape you reality

The human mind is duplex in nature. The conscious level of the mind is able to reason and make decis i ons, such as where to live and what to eat. The subconscious is responsible for the body’s functioning, distinctly out of conscious thought and control; no one has to make a conscious choice to have a heartbeat, for example. When the conscious mind thinks thoughts repeatedly, they become embedded in the subconscious mind. Unlike the conscious mind, the subconscious mind doesn’t reason or differentiate between good and bad. Regardless of whether thoughts are negative or harmonious, the subconscious mind responds by sending out vibrations in accordance with those thoughts. Beliefs that arise in the conscious mind get planted in the subconscious mind. The universal law of action and reaction ensures that a belief, whether positive or negative, will produce a reaction from the subconscious mind in time. The subconscious mind does not judge thoughts it receives from the conscious mind. The...

3 Books that will change your life forever

Do you know the one most common habit among the top 1% of the best of the best leaders? It's reading books and absorbing information. LEADERS ARE READERS . The average person reads two books a year but an average CEO reads 1 book a week. Elon Musk (Founder of Tesla, SpaceX, OpenAI, etc.) grew up reading two books a day, according to his brother. Billionaire entrepreneur, David Rubenstein reads six books a week. Mark Cuban, speeds more than three hours per day reading books. So why is reading books so crucial for success to be bestowed upon you?  Reading is to your mind, like what exercise is to your physical body. It is your best mentor for success. Books have knowledge that is gained by decades of experience by successful people. So you can transfer decades of experiences that made those leaders successful in just a couple weeks or less! That is why this habit is powerful and justifies the statement, " THE MORE YOUR LEARN THE MORE YOU EARN ." Today I’ll discuss 3 excepti...
